Responsibilities:
As a Cook at The Manor, you will have various responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Checking and inspecting food products and supplies in the absence of the Executive Chef.
Supervising and assisting in the storage of supplies and food products.
Cooperating with inter-departmental personnel to ensure dining services meet residents' needs.
Creating and maintaining a positive atmosphere throughout the unit and shift.
Meeting with the Executive Chef regularly to identify and correct problem areas.
Reporting and addressing resident complaints and grievances.
Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and community rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Determining the amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus.
Coordinating food preparation and meal service.
Preparing, seasoning, cooking, and serving meals; ensuring appropriate portioned servings according to standards.
Preparing nutritional snacks for residents as directed by the Executive Chef.
Qualifications:
We are seeking candidates with the following
Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent education (preferred).
Experience in a commercial kitchen is required.
Preference given to those with education in quantity cooking and therapeutic diets.
Minimum two (2) years of food service experience in a healthcare dietary setting (desired).
General knowledge of quantity food preparation and portioned serving.
Numerical ability for recipe preparation and proper measuring.
Good motor coordination and manual dexterity for various work routines.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including during emergency situations.
Must pass a criminal background check and meet health and state requirements, including TB testing.
Must be in good mental and physical condition.
