RCoordinator, this position assesses, plans, organizes and evaluates all aspects of patient care for assigned unit/patientsReports to:

RCoordinator Essential Job Functions 1Utilizes the nursing process to provide quality patient care according to established standards of care which includes planning, implementing, evaluating and adjusting plan of care, and discharge planning based on expected patient outcomes1.
1 Admits, transfers, and discharges patients1.
2 Completes ongoing patient assessment and documents according to policy1.
3 Completes nursing assessment within 2 hours of admission, or designates reason for incompletenessReviews database and nutrition screen1.
4 Participates in the development of patient plan of care to include patient problems, goals, evaluations and interventions1.
5 Reports symptoms and significant changes in patient's condition to appropriate personnel1.
6 Assesses, collaborates and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge with other members of the care team2Demonstrates appropriate application of age specific standards, policies and procedures and guidelines in caring for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients2.
1 Follows age specific standards in administering medications based on patient's age2.
2 Follows age specific standards of care during altered states of consciousness related to analgesia, conscious sedation or anesthesia2.
3 Uses age specific standards, policies and procedures and guidelines to perform treatments and procedures that are routine for unit/clinic based on patient's age3Incorporates cultural and developmental needs into plan of care3.
1 In collaboration with the patient/family, and in a developmentally and culturally appropriate manner, implements the plan of care3.
2 Demonstrates competency in the provision of nursing care according to established standards of nursing practice and in a developmentally appropriate manner4Demonstrates critical thinking skills, ability to provide and delegate activities to staff based on patient assessment and the requirements to deliver care in a safe efficient manner maximizing positive outcomes for the patient5Provides documentation of patient care in the patient record according to established standards of nursing care6Collaborates and works cooperatively with physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary health care team in formal and informal teaching of patients and/or family about his or her disease process and wellness promotion plan and discharge planning6.

5 Follows through on problems that may compromise effective job performance by using appropriate chain of command10Operating room area specific duties may include unit specific functions addressing the nursing process aspects of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation as well as nursing functions of teaching, risk management, time management, and communication in the following manners:

1 Perform nursing functions and procedures 10.
2 Perform sterile surgical scrub prep 10.
3 Receive and carry out doctor's orders 10.
4 Secure blood from blood bank, verify and administer blood/blood products 10.
5 Order medications as prescribed by physician and administer appropriately 10.
6 Circulate room when surgery is in progress 10.
7 Assist anesthesiologist/CRNA during induction and when requested 10.
8 Work in supervisory capacity when manager is gone 10.
9 Assist surgeon with surgical case(employees do not cut or cauterize tissue 10.
10 Function as RN scrub technician 10.
11 Assist in PACU when necessary 10.
12 Assist with cleaning surgery suite and room set up for next case 10.
13 Check operating room suite for readiness prior to each surgical case 10.
14 Stock OR suites, clean equipment, etcat end of scheduled day and anticipate needs for following days surgeries 10.
15 Provide nurse administered IV conscious sedation, after appropriate training Minimum Requirements Education:
Graduation from accredited school of nursingCertification, Licensure:
Current state license as a registered nurse; current CPR certification; ACLS certification required within one (1) year of employmentExperience, Training, Knowledge:
One (1) to three (3) years' experience as an RN is preferredExperience in orthopedic, neurosurgical, pain management specialties preferredPhysical Requirements Position requires lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to fifty (50) pounds while administering patient care; stooping, kneeling and/or crouching; standing and walking five (5) or more hours per day; reaching, grasping, and handling and/or feeling five (5) or more hours per dayVisual acuity to correctly distinguish skin tone variations, evidence of IV infiltration, infection and to read telemetry, blood pressure gauges, etc; audio acuity to correctly distinguish various body sounds, i.
